Statsraad Lehmkuhl (Norway) has strengthened her lead on Corrected Time in first place overall of The Tall Ships Races 2016. She is now 10 hours ahead of Jolie Brise (UK), with Fryderyk Chopin (Poland) in third place, a further two hours behind her.
The front runners have entered an area of light and fluky winds off the Portuguese coast, so Jolie Brise, which is still enjoying ideal sailing conditions further north, could close in from behind to challenge Statsraad Lehmkuhl’s top placing.
The winds are forecast to be light and variable off the Portuguese coast, which will create challenging conditions for the navigators over the next couple of days.
