Host Port Seminar 2026 Stavanger

We are delighted to share that the Sail Training International Host Port Seminar 2026 will take place during The Tall Ships Races Stavanger on Friday 24th July. This year’s event forms a special part of the 70th anniversary celebrations of The Tall Ships Races.

Host ports are integral to the success of any Tall Ships events, and the more future Host Ports can prepare, share best practice and collaborate – quite simply the more successful an event will be.

1010-1100 – Trainees at the heart of The Tall Ships Races – Young people share their insights into what makes a successful in port event and encourage port representatives to consider how they can optimise the trainee experience by understanding trainee needs whilst in port

1110-1145 – Coffee Break

1145-1245 – Workshop: Why take part in The Tall Ships Races and how can we ensure that everyone’s needs and expectations are met? – Understanding stakeholders’ motivation to ensure that The Tall Ships Races remain relevant to all participants, including the young people, the host ports, the ships and the visitors

1245-1400 – Lunch

AFTERNOON:

1400-1500 – 70 years of The Tall Ships Races – a retrospective (Max Mudie & Kris Romański)

1500-1530 – Recap and Finish
