The Programme

There will be a range of live speakers to share their expertise and offer discussion with sessions to inform, educate and offer discussion on topics, including:

  • COVID-19 risk assessment and mitigation
  • Sustainable and environmentally friendly Sail Training
  • Mental health and wellbeing for Sail Trainers
  • Sail Training showcases to inspire participation
  • Effectively training volunteers

Here’s just a taste of what you can expect from the sessions…

Volunteer Recruitment, Management and Training in the RNLI

Speaker: Andy Wright

This seminar will discuss the journey from an application to joining the RNLI as crew to becoming a substantive crew member – prepared to save lives at sea 24 hours a day, whatever the weather.

Looking at the recruitment, management and training stages of the application process, this session will provide an excellent insight to effectively working with volunteers.

What Do We Need for Mental Health?

Speaker: Sue Cheshire

This practical workshop is aimed at anyone who is involved in Sail Training; whether you sail as sea staff in any capacity, or you have a shore-based support or leadership role.

The workshop will take place over two sessions and will be limited to 20 delegates. It will look at the essential needs that we must satisfy for good mental health, and offer suggestions for ways to support those who are struggling.

As with all our online conferences and seminars, every session will be made available for catch up viewing.

We encourage all delegates to consider a voluntary donation as we continue to serve the needs of the Sail Training world and kindly invite donations from £50.

Giving is easy, just follow the link below or donate when you complete your registration.

If for any reason you are unable to make a donation, we still welcome attendees to register free of charge.
