Follow the Final Leg to Dublin
After a twenty-four hour postponement due to weather conditions, leg four of The Tall Ships Races 2012 got underway from A Coruna at 19:00 (local time) yesterday.
All Class A ships and five other class vessels have started and are now racing in fresh south westerly winds to the finish line off south east Ireland before continuing onto Dublin. The other vessels have taken the opportunity to start later within a twenty-four hour start ‘window’ given to the fleet by the Race Committee. All vessels are expected to start by 18:00 UTC/GMT today.
Cuauhtemoc has been sailing exceptionally fast, averaging speeds of over 11 knots, and leads the fleet on the water with 377 miles to go.

Class A:
1st: Cuauhtemoc (Mexico)
2nd: Stavross S Niarchos (UK)
3rd: Alexander Von Humboldt II (Germany)
Class B:
1st: Kapitan Borchard (Poland)
Class C:
1st: Spaniel (Latvia)
2nd: Dar Szczecina (Poland)
Class D:
1st: Tomidi (Belgium)
2nd: Gigi (UK)
3rd: Asta (Germany)

St Malo – Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 July (race start Monday 9 July)
Lisbon – Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 July
Cadiz – Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 July
A Coruí±a – Friday 10 to Monday 13 August
Dublin – Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 August
