Battle of the Bands at the Official Opening

To the delight of onlookers, bands from two ships with a strong musical tradition – Shabab Oman (Oman) and Dewaruci (Indonesia) came together this afternoon at the opening ceremony of the Aalborg Tall Ships Race.  

Guests and spectators watched as officers of the two ships joined hands in friendship and danced together as the pipers and drummers played.

Mayor of Aalborg Henning G Jensen welcomed the fleet to Aalborg and Race Chairman Christer Samuelsson replied and asked that the people of Aalborg take care of the 2600 young trainees from 34 nations visiting the city.
