One-to-One Online Meetings
How do the online One-to-One meetings work?
Our One-to-One online meetings are similar to our popular Speed Meeting events at our traditional conferences. Vessel operators and host port representatives can meet virtually to open a dialogue, put names to faces and discuss participation in our programme of upcoming events.
Each online meeting can last up to 20 minutes. In this time, participants will be able to introduce themselves and talk about sailing plans for the upcoming year, income generating opportunities through various hospitality initiatives and what facilities will be available in port. During those meetings attendees will be able to make arrangements for further networking with each other.
1) Registration
- Register via the “Register now” button
- Choose whether you are a Host Port Representative or Vessel Operator
- Fill out the required fields and questions for your personal profile and any relevant organisation information
- Choose your ‘areas of activity’ based upon the host ports you are interested in visiting or host port that you are representing
- At the registration you can choose which days you will be available to have one-to-one meetings through the agenda options. The more you are available, the more potential attendees you can meet
•Please note you will only be able to book One-to-One meetings on the days you mark as attending
2) Publish a profile to showcase your needs
Create a clear and concise profile for other attendees to review before sending a meeting request. Your profile should describe what host port or vessel you represent and what you can offer as a host port to visiting ships, or what opportunities you are looking for as a vessel operator to participate in an event.
A good profile will generate significantly more meeting requests. Your profile will be visible before and during the conference.
3) Send & receive meeting requests from 2nd November
The booking of meetings opens November. You will be notified by an e-mail alert once booking has opened.
Be active not reactive. Browse published participants profiles and send meeting requests to those you want to meet online during the conference. Adding a meaningful remark outlining why you are interested in a meeting will help the host port or vessel operator prepare for your meeting.
How to Book Meetings
- Browse the list of attendees
- Send meeting requests to those organisations/people you want to meet
- Adding a short reason why you are interested in a meeting will increase the acceptance
- Once your meeting request has been confirmed you will be able to schedule a time. Typically, date and time of a meeting is scheduled by the person accepting the meeting request
- Check your incoming meeting request and accept or refuse if not appropriate. You are encouraged to let the requester know why if you are not interested in a meeting
Booking Notes:
- Everybody can send meeting requests to everyone
- Incoming meeting requests have to be accepted before the time can be scheduled
- You will find the available days and hours of the participants on their profiles
4) One-to-One Online Meeting Sessions
Shortly before the event you will receive your meeting schedule by email. Please use Google Chrome, Firefox or other Browsers for the Meetings.
Before starting your meetings, please check if the audio and the camera on the computer work to ensure you make the most of your time together. You can find a guide to the technical requirement here.
During the meetings please exchange your contact details, which you can use to make follow up arrangements.
