Choppy seas for final night
The fleet will be recovering this morning from a hard night at sea, with strong winds from the south creating and heavy rain making choppy seas. Winds are decreasing this morning as the vessels prepare for the final morning of racing with the last time vessels can cross the finish line being 1400hrs local time.
Tecla (Netherlands) is currently first in Class A/B and first overall with Maybe (UK) in second place in Class A/B and second overall.
Challenge Wales (UK) lies second in Class C/D and has covered the greatest uncorrected mileage up to this point, closely followed by St Iv (Estonia) who is first on corrected distance in Class C/D.
Johanna Lucretia (UK) has decided to finish early and is currently making her way into Liverpool on the Mersey. The remaining vessels are expected in on high waters during the evening of 29th August (Canning River Entrance open 2120-2320hrs) and the morning of 30th August (Canning River Entrance open 1045-1115hrs).
The crews will be looking forward to drying out and relaxing when they arrive in Liverpool. The forecast for the period in port is looking good with brighter weather and just the odd shower.
