Wylde Swan Takes Line Honours
People gathered at Kvititsoy Lighthouse, approximately 10km from Stavanager, as the first beautiful Tall Ship arrived in calm waters, a little different to the challenge faced by the international crews over the last 24 hours.
First on the water and a clear winner was Dutch Class A vessel Wylde Swan but as predicted earlier, it is all change in Class A, with Norwegian vessels Statsraad Lehmkuhl and Christian Radich taking the lead from German vessel Alexander Von Humboldt now in third place on corrected time.
A close battle is still being fought in Class B with Wyvern in first postition followed by Liv and Tecla. For Class C it looks as though it could be a second win for Black Diamond of Durham, winner of Race One from Waterford to Greenock which could see the Captain aiming to score a hatrick when heading to Halmstad on Sunday.
In Class D Akela and Urania are now being chased by 19 girls on Rona II, in third place, who hosted a unique garden party as a special treat for Lerwick on Saturday.
