The Crew Parade Shines in Dunkirk
The spectacle that is the crew parade, did not disappoint here today, on day two of the festivities in Dunkirk.
Local communities and visitors gathered together in the sunshine to watch the procession, as crews of The Tall Ships Races entertained crowds with handmade costumes and props, whilst chanting, dancing and singing their way through the city. It was a showcase of culture, creativity and comradeship; aspects which make this customary part of the celebrations so unique.
The parade route took participants around the Bassin de Commerce, through the heart of the city centre, covering approximately 2.8 km. The party atmosphere reached a climax, as crews congregated at the main stage to await the start of the prize giving ceremony.
