Shabab Oman Leaves Lavrion

June 7, 2010

The winners of the Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta Friendship Trophy, Shabab Oman, were the first to leave Lavrion today at the end of the event. Captains of the other ships in the fleet, liaison officers and friends made while in Lavrion waved them off from the quayside.

As Shabab Oman pulled away, the band played on, their bagpipes ringing out across the water as she slowly made her way out of the port.

From Lavrion, Shabab Oman will be stopping at Napoli, Barcelona, Lisbon and Cherbourg before arriving in Antwerp for the start of The Tall Ships Races at the beginning of July.
