International Sail Training & Tall Ships Conference Goes Online for 2020

October 20, 2020

Sail Training International is pleased to announce the International Sail Training and Tall Ships Conference is moving online for 2020, from 16-26 November…

To support the Sail Training community, we are delighted to bring you a series of on-demand webinars looking at the challenges facing Tall Ships during the Covid-19 pandemic, a preview of our events taking place in 2021 and online speed meetings to help Vessel Operators, all of our future Host Ports and Endorsed Events stay connected and prepare for what promises to be an exciting year of Events in 2021.

ON-DEMAND CONFERENCE SESSIONS

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to have an enormous impact on Sail Training around the world and, following the postponement of The Tall Ships Races 2020, we’re now looking forward to a packed summer of events in 2021. With these unprecedented challenges and opportunities ahead, we have put together a programme of on-demand sessions that will offer the following:

  • Host Port representatives from our 2021 races and regattas will preview their events, provide updates on Covid-19 mitigation planning and preparation, and outline their plans for income generating opportunities in port.
  • Experts from the world of Tall Ships and Sail Training provide support and advice to Vessel Operators as they continue to adapt to operating in Covid safe environments.
  • Host Port and Endorsed Event representatives share their experience of planning and holding events under Covid-19 restrictions.
  • An update of on-going initiatives Sail Training International has been working on over the last 12 months.

Our programme of on-demand webinars launches on Monday 16 November

Registration opens on Monday 2 November

ONE-TO-ONE ONLINE MEETINGS

Alongside viewing our on-demand conference sessions, Vessel Operators and Host Port representatives will be able to book one-to-one appointments with each other through virtual meeting software platform B2Match.

Like our successful speed meeting sessions at our traditional conference, these meetings will provide the opportunity for you to schedule meetings to open a dialogue, ‘put faces to names’ and agree follow-up meetings where appropriate.

Registration for one-to-one meetings launches on Monday 2 November 2020

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Whilst the main focus of this year’s virtual conference will be on the Events taking place in 2021, the International Sail Training & Tall Ships Conference 2020 will be a must attend (online) event for vessel operators, Sail Training programme providers, future Tall Ships Races Host Port representatives and representatives from Sail Training International’s endorsed events.

As we continue to navigate these unprecedented times, we can collectively look ahead to fairer winds and look forward to The Tall Ships Races 2021, The Magellan-Elcano 500 Series 2021, the SCF White Sails of Peace Tall Ships Regatta 2021 and endorsed event DelfSail 2021. The International Sail Training and Tall Ships Conference will allow Host Port representatives and Vessel Operators to connect and fill the gap left by our traditional physical conference.
