Race report 23: Last few vessels arrive into port

Most of the 91 vessels in The Tall Ships Races 2013 have arrived into the port of Szczecin to meet their 1200 deadline.

The Race Committee will now be reviewing the official race declaration forms before issuing final results either later today, or tomorrow. 

An exciting day is planned in the port.  Visitors can look forward to visiting the vessels from 10:00 – 20:00.  A grand opening ceremony, with Bronislaw Komorowski, President of Poland is taking place aboard Dar Mlodziezy (Poland), followed by a record breaking attempt to sing Rod Stewart’s ‘We are sailing’.  A giant stage has been set up for the Eska Music Awards and bands are playing throughout the day.

Meanwhile, crews can enjoy sports competitions from martial arts and rowing, to tug of war and chess.
