Race Director Sets the standards for Race 2
The fleet began Race 2 towards Aberdeen with a virtual start and a two-hour window to cross the start line with a southerly breeze of approximately 15–20 knots.
After two nights at sea, the fleet has made significant progress, with all vessels covering at least 100 nautical miles toward Scotland.
What is not visible on the YB Tracking map are the various navigational hazards—so-called “no-go zones”—such as wind farms, oil rigs, or traffic separation schemes. These obstacles force ships to adjust their courses, and each team is working hard to identify the most optimal route northward.
Fryderyk Chopin is in first place, closely followed by Royalist and Kapitan Glowacki in third place according to the latest tracking information.
With approximately 21 nautical miles from the finish line, all could change!
