Race 3 – Evening Update 2 June

At the 1600 UTC/GMT report, despite earlier excellent progress by the leaders, none of the vessels have yet crossed the finish line. 

Dar Mlodziezy (Poland) remains in the lead on corrected time both in Class A and overall. Behind her in Class A is Mir (Russia – pictured) with Kaliakra (Bulgaria) in third place.

In Class B on corrected time, Bodrum (Turkey) remains in the lead, Tecla (Netherlands) is in second place and Maybe (UK) in third. Mythos (Greece) continues to lead the Class C vessels with Mati (Croatia) in second. In Class D, Adonis (Greece) is now in the lead with Akela (Russia) in second and Hansa (Spain) in third. 

On the water, Hansa remains in the lead and has passed waypoint 2 and has just 23 miles to go to the finish line.  Dar Mlodziezy has also passed waypoint 2 and has 47 miles to go to the finish line. Mir is close to waypoint 2.  

Maybe and Alexander von Humboldt (Germany) have yet to pass waypoint 1. The rest of the fleet are between waypoint 1 and 2.

Wind at the front of the fleet is north-easterly 9-10 kts while the vessels towards the back of the fleet are experiencing light airs.
