Nominate your sail training stars
Just over two weeks left to nominate those who have made a significant contribution to sail training this year.
You can nominate for awards which are presented to individuals and organisations that have made a significant contribution to the international sail training industry. They are decided by an STI Awards Committee and will be presented at Sail Training International’ Annual Conference in Aalborg, Denmark (Friday 15 – Saturday 16 November).äóÂäóÂ
How to nominate?
Download and complete an application form and email it to Amanda Goodden with ‘Annual Awards’ in the subject line before the deadline expires at midnight, Monday 14 October 2013.
Paul Bishop, Head of Race Directorate, said: äóìWe have worked with some terrific sail trainers, volunteers and sail training organisations this year. They really do deserve to be recognised for their efforts, which has had such a positive influence on the lives of the young people they’ve worked with.
“But it’ down to you to give these organisations and people the recognition they deserve and nominate them before the deadline.”äóÂäóÂ
The following awards are open for nominations:
Sail Training Organisation of the Year
Awarded to a sail training organisation that has demonstrated excellence in ‘innovation’ and ‘best practice’ in sail training for young people.
Two awards:
– one for large vessels
– one for small vessels
NSTOs, sail training vessel operators and individuals are eligible to nominate in these categories.
Sail Trainer of the Year
Awarded to a professional sail trainer to encourage and recognise high-performing individuals who deliver the sail training programme for young people at sea.
Two awards:
– a professional sail trainer older than 25 years
– a sail trainer aged 25 years, or younger
Sail training operators/organisations are eligible to nominate in these categories.
Sail Training Volunteer of the Year
Awarded to a volunteer in the sail training movement who has made an extraordinary contribution to the organisation they serve through their skills, talent, time and dedication.
Two awards:
– a volunteer older than 25 years
– a volunteer aged 25 years, or younger
Sail training operators/organisations are eligible to nominate in these categories.
