Minutes Divide Class A Three
With just four vessels left to finish Race 2 from Lisbon to Cadiz, the provisional results are in. This has been one the closest races ever with just eight minutes separating the first three in Class A on corrected time.
Provisional results for The Tall Ships Races 2012 (finalised when all race declaration forms have been received) are:
Class A
1st: Dar Mlodziezy (Poland)
2nd: Europa (Netherlands)
3rd: Fryderyk Chopin (Poland)
Class B:
1st: Rupel (Belgium)
2nd: Johanna Lucretia (UK)
3rd: Maybe (UK)
Class C:
1st: Dar Szczecina (Poland)
2nd: St Iv (Estonia)
3rd: Hosanna (France)
Class D:
1st: Urania (Netherlands)
2nd: Akela (Russia)
3rd: Veloce (Portugal)
Belgium vessel, Rupel, is first in class and overall on corrected time.
The port will be busy today with vessels arriving before the 12.00hrs deadline tomorrow. The final four to finish are Etoile Polaire, Kapitan Borchardt, Creoula and Lord Nelson.
The Tall Ships Races 2012, Presented by Szczecin and organised by Sail Training International is taking place in the following host ports:
St Malo – Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 July (race start Monday 9 July)
Lisbon – Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 July
Cadiz – Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 July
La Coruí±a – Friday 10 to Monday 13 August
Dublin – Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 August
