Fleet start to arrive in Norwegian ports

As at 1000hrs on Monday 26 July, the fleet were scattered around the Sagerrak, in both Danish and Swedish waters.

Lack of wind has meant slow progress over the last 24 hours with many vessels opting to motor sail in order to reach Norway in good time.  

Mir (Russia), Shabab Oman (Oman), Pegasus (UK), Black Diamond of Durham (UK) and Moosk (UK) have all reached Arendal, a small city with a sheltered harbour and beautiful views of the wooden houses at Tyholmen some 43 nautical miles from Kristiansand.   

Jens Krough (Denmark) is close to Risor, a town surrounded by idyllic villages, mountains, forests and fjords, where other ships are planning on visiting tomorrow (Tuesday).  

Anchored north of Risor at Kragero are Wylde Swan (Netherlands) and Shtandart (Russia).  Kregero is an idyllic coastal town, with a history of ship building and the export of ice and timber, some 148 miles from Aalborg and 76 miles from Kristiansand.  

Sorlandet (Norway), Urania (Netherlands), Etoile (France), Maybe (UK), Zvezda (Russia) and Mutin (France) are all still in the open waters of the Skagerrak, whilst Kapitan Glowacki (Poland), Thor Heyerdahl (Germany) and Rona II (UK) are close to Skagen at the northern most point of Denmark. 

Meanwhile Tenacious (UK) is sailing alone in open water north of Skagen at 4.1 knots.
