Early arrivals into Barcelona

As the city of Barcelona makes its final preparations for this weekend’s festivities, ships are starting to arrive in port.  Many people watched as La Recouvrance (France) and Gulden Leeuw (Netherlands) – pictured – arrived earlier today and moored along the quayside.  

Most of the fleet, including the Class A Tall Ships Royal Helena (Bulgaria) and Russian ships Mir and Kruzenshtern are expected to arrive tomorrow morning (20 Sept).  

With the weather forecast looking good and Barcelona’s festival La Mercí in full swing, hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected to visit the area from Saturday to Tuesday (21 to 24 Sept).

About Sail Training International (STI)

STI is the international voice of Sail Training, a registered charity (not-for-profit organisation), which has worldwide membership and activities. Its purpose is the development and education of young people through the Sail Training experience, regardless of nationality, culture, religion, gender or social background.
