A taste of spice
Given a choice of ships to sail on during a tall ships regatta, the Omani vessel Shabab Oman would definitely be one to put on the short list.
As well as the amazing display of partying they put on at any given opportunity, Cdr Saif Nasser Alrahbi and his crew, aboard the 43m Scottish-built barquentine, know a thing or two about entertaining their guests. An invite to a quick lunch on board is usually a full-blown gastronomic experience and today’ invited guests in the port of Varna were not disappointed.
Cdr Saif Nasser Alrahbi’ crew produced a fine spread of Asian cuisine which included a lightly spiced meat curry, curried king prawns, and cashew nut-spiced rice, followed by a scrumptious bread yoghurt and saffron dessert.
Apparently the crew enjoy similar cuisine on a daily basis, which is perhaps one of the reasons why this Naval sail training vessel is so popular!
