A Greek Welcome For Czech Training Ship

Czech training ship, La Grace, successfully reached European waters to attend its first public event in Greece  where it was named in front of thousands.  Filsvos Marina Athens  received great support from key reprentatives from both the City of Athens in addition to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Captain of La Grace, Josef Dvorsky, comments: “After a difficult sail which screened both the ship and the crew, we arrived at what turned-out to be a fantastic event where we proudly represented Sail Training International and the Czech Republic.  La Grace certainly didn’t go unnoticed and we enjoyed much attention from the media and general public as we proudly flew the flag of the Tall Ship Forum.”

A strong crew of sail trainees left the Czech Republic in April 2011 to attend Filsvos Marina Athens from 29 April – 1 May 2011. Some of the crew would like to be back at sea again this summer in The Tall Ships Races 2011.
