A Scenic Cruise-in-Company Awaits the Fleet after Another Great Day in Fredrikstad

Posted on: 17.07.23

The third day in Fredrikstad saw thousands of visitors visit the fleet as the celebrations continued for The Tall Ships Races 2023…

Before this, over 100,000 people visited the event yesterday to watch the vibrant Crew Parade and Prize Giving Ceremony. With rainy conditions not stopping the party, the city once again transformed itself to welcome the Tall Ships fleet.

The crowds were treated to a memorable sight once again as throughout the parade, the crews of the Tall Ships fleet gave onlookers a kaleidoscopic display of energy and vibrancy that is a hallmark of the race series.

Setting Sail for a Cruise in good Company

Following four days of maritime celebrations in the Norwegian city, the majestic Tall Ships and Small Ships will set off in a Cruise-in-Company voyage to Lerwick.

Unlike a traditional race leg, the Cruise-in-Company leg of The Tall Ships Races gives crews throughout the fleet the opportunity to take part in a cruise of adventure between two Host Ports. There’ll be a perfect mix of invigorating sailing and exploring amazing bays, natural landscapes, historical ports and much more.

This voyage will showcase the delights that the coastal regions of Norway, Scotland and The Shetland have to offer. From hoisting the sails on a traditional Tall Ship or keeping watch on a modern yacht, the crews will enjoy an adventure they’ll never forget.

Ahead of them is a programme of nine Guest Harbours, each offering different experiences and attractions for the fleet. All in all the fleet will have the opportunity to see the best of the Norwegian and Scottish coast, with cultural activities, music festivals, picturesque sailing and other entertainment.
