Hansa takes line honours in Race Two!
Hansa (Spain) has taken line honours in Race Two of the Tall Ships Race from Kristiansand to Hartlepool, crossing the finishing line at 07:04 UTC/GMT.
Hansa, a Bermudan Sloop, has followed the rhumb line (most direct route) all the way from Kristiansand, and in a race with only light wind has held the lead on the water since the evening communications schedule on the second day of the race.
Built in 1995, the 18.28m sloop’ home port is La Coruna.
In Race One Hansa finished fifth in class and 48th overall. She is currently lying first in class in Race Two and seventh overall on corrected time (class placings remain provisional until all vessels have arrived in port and handed in their signed declaration forms which are then scrutinized by the Race Committee).
Hansa is now heading straight into Hartlepool.
