Biography
Orsa Maggiore was built in 1994, and is used by the Italian Navy for training cadets and officers. In 1996/1998 she became the Italian Navy’s first yacht to sail around the world twice, and in 1997 set a record in crossing Brisbane (Australia) – Noumea (New Caledonia) taking just 3 days, 23 hours, 40 minutes and 23 seconds to travel 823 nautical miles: a record which is still unbeaten. She has taken part in several Tall Ships Races.
