Sail on Board: latest news on Sail Training, Tall Ships Races and Regattas

October 13, 2016

At Sail Training International, our goal is to help more people have an adventure at sea, and tell the world about sail training and its benefits. So, in August 2016, we launched a new website, Sail On Board.

The aim of our new website is to help young people through the whole process of booking a place on board a ship. To reflect this move, all future Sail Training International news stories will be published on Sail On Board.

Through Sail On Board, we want young people from around the world to discover what sail training has to offer. Everything from the challenges and adventures they could experience at sea, to the long-term benefits of learning new skills and forming strong international friendships that overcome religious, ethnic and political differences.

On Sail On Board, there are numerous ways that people can learn about the sail training experience. For example, we have photo galleries showing exactly what sailing in one of our events entails. You can see everything from the bunks below deck to the spectacular sunset on the endless horizon. We have information about the ships that are taking part in our future events, those that offer berths for trainees, where they sail, the food they serve on board and much, much more.

Our blog page has sail training news, along with insights from our events and features about people we meet. In addition to our event updates and race reports, we’ll post articles that address everything you need to know about adventures at sea. Curious to find out what different nautical tattoos mean? Worried about how to deal with seasickness? Need help avoiding vertigo up the mast of a tall ship? We’ve got you covered.

Every post on Sail On Board is designed to engage sea adventurers, new and old. So, we actively encourage all of our readers to use the comments section that’ available at the bottom of every article. We’d love to hear what you think! And what you’d like to see more of.

In the archives

We’ll maintain a comprehensive news archive on http://www.sailtraininginternational.org/news, featuring updates from events and other areas of the organisation (from 2010 to present).
