Race Two, Report Three

October 1, 2013

There was no report this morning from the Communications vessel as she had to return to harbour yesterday in order for a radar to be repaired.  The ship was fixed and left Toulon at 11.00hrs today in order to rendezvous with the fleet.  They are indeed back with the rear of the fleet however they are still having a technical problem with the communications systems but the shore side race team and the communications officers on board are working to resolve this.

In the meantime the port of La Spezia is looking good and getting ready for the arrival of the ships.

Provisional results from Yellow Brick on corrected time, taking out a couple of vessels which are now motoring, are as follows:

Class A

1st  La Grace (Czech Republic)

2nd Royal Helena  (Bulgaria)

3rd  Mir (Russia)

Class B

1st  Pandora (Italy)

2nd  Far Barcelona (Spain)

Class C

What is sail training?

Sail Training is an adventure activity, which includes far more than sailing instruction. Participants are required to confront demanding challenges, both physical and emotional. It is an activity that inspires self-confidence and personal responsibility. It promotes an acceptance of others, whatever their social or cultural backgrounds, and develops a willingness to take controlled risks. Those who undertake Sail Training on Tall Ships generally find it a positive life-changing experience.
