Race report 12: Exciting closing stages

July 15, 2013

It’s all change in the Class A category in the final stage of The Tall Ships Races first race leg 2013.

Paul Blshop, Race Director said, “Statsraad Lehmkuhl (Norway) crossed the finish line at 01:18:45 UTC after displaying an excellent strategy to round way point 3 off the north west coast of Estonia in the closing stages of the race – she has provisionally moved up to first place in Class A on corrected time.

“The forecast is for the wind to increase from a favourable direction and as Tre Kronor af Stockholm (Sweden) has yet to cross the finish line, she has an opportunity to retake her first place on corrected time in Class A. The closing stages of race one from Aarhus to Helsinki are very exciting.”
