Moonlit arrivals

Most of the Irish Sea Regatta fleet arrived in Liverpool yesterday evening under a bright moonlit sky.  After three challenging days sailing and racing the crews were all in good spirits as they patiently waited to enter through the Canning Dock entrance and then the smaller vessels carried on through to Albert Dock to take up their berths for the coming festival.  

Three vessels remain outside in the Mersey and are due to enter the dock at this morning’s high tide (approx 1015-1100hrs) – they are the Class A barquentine Pelican of London (UK) – the largest ship in this fleet, gaff schooner Kapitan Borchardt (Poland) and St Iv (Estonia) – one of the smallest in the fleet.  **

Results of the Irish Sea Race will be posted later today.
