Gloria Arrives

Colombian military vessel, ARC Gloria attracted lots of media attention and an appaluding public in Halmstad today as she arrived in the final host port of The Tall Ships Races 2011 presented by Szczecin and organised by Sail Training International.

Captain Gabriel Perez said:  “We are very pleased to be in Sweden.  The cadets are really looking forward to learning about Swedish culture, customs and tradition as well as visiting the city of Halmstad.  We have really enjoyed our experience with The Tall Ships Races 2011 and hopefully look forward to taking part again.”

The final arrival deadline is 1200 tomorrow for the entire fleet to be in port. Meanwhile, Halmstad has become a hive of activity with ships now arriving throughout the night and early hours before the event officially opens with a ceremony taking place on the Ocean Stage at 1200 tomorrow.
