Race Update 8 – 15 August pm report
It is all change at this evening’s position report with the Class C vessels now dominating the leaderboard. Dar Szczecina (Poland) has held onto her lead in Class C and overall, with Riyal (Netherlands) now in second place in Class and overall and Black Diamond of Durham (UK) back in third place in Class C and overall.
Tecla (Netherlands) the only Class B vessel left racing, is now in 4th place overall.
Stad Amsterdam (Netherlands) continues to lead the Class A vessels with Stavros S Niarchos (UK) now up in second place and Eendracht (Netherlands) in third.
Lietuva (Poland) remains in the lead in Class D although she has not reported her latest position, with Endorfina (Poland) in second place and Urania (Netherlands) in third.
So far, Stavros S Niarchos, Ocean Scout (UK), Endorfina, Wylde Swan (Netherlands), Pelican of London (UK) and Kaliakra (Bulgaria) have all crossed the finish line. As the race ends at 1300 UTC/GMT tomorrow 16 August, all the vessels are attempting to cross the line before the race time limit is reached. Vessels that have not crossed the finish line by that time will have a penalty applied.
