Busy day for the crews

July 30, 2010

Crews are enjoying the many sports provided by the city today, including canoeing, table tennis, volleyball, hill running, archery, javelin, and less well known ‘soda case piling’  (pic – Morning Star of Revelation crew)

Prizes for the competitions will be presented at the official Prize Giving Ceremony at 1700hrs today, following the crew parade through the city, where some 2000 trainees will march, dance and sing their way through the city – some in fancy dress, some with marching bands.  They will depart from the Market Square at 1600hrs.

60 trainees of fourteen nationalities have enjoyed the hospitality of the Crown Prince and Princess today at their summer retreat on a nearby island.  All shook hands with the royal couple as they arrived at the secluded summer house and then chatted with them over lunch, telling them stories of their time on board the ships – a lovely memory for the trainees.
