Race Update 8

July 18, 2010

At the 1800hrs communications schedule, positions in Class A, B, C and D remained the same as this morning. Just one vessel has yet to cross the finish line, Aglaia (Austria) who is now experiencing very light winds, with all the others scattered around a variety of ports in the Skaggerak area.

It is understood that 23 of the smaller vessels rafted together in Skagen last night and enjoyed a great end of race party. As the vessels arrive in Aalborg, many are requesting assistance with some issues to address following the strong winds of the race. The crews arriving in Aalborg are tired but full of the highlights of their great adventure with many having sailed at excellent average speeds.
