Biography
Sailing yacht Karedzhi was built in Saint-Petersburg (Leningrad) in 1969. She is a classic wooden 12-meter racing cruiser yacht of the L-6 class. During 47 years of her racing history, “Karedzhi” multiple times participated in high-level offshore regattas in the Baltic Sea region. Under the leadership of Captain Yuri E. Funtikov “Karedzhi” and her crew several times became prize-winners of the Baltic Sea Cup in 1980’s.
In the early 2000’s the yacht was overhauled and renewed. Nowadays “Karedzhi” is crewed by an experienced and ambitious team, as well as by young sailors and trainees. In 2016 “Karedzhi” achieved good results in national sailing competitions and won prizes in many of them. In 2017 we took the next step and participated in the Tall Ships Races for the first time.
