Sail Training International to Hold Town Hall Meeting for Vessel Operators

January 15, 2021

In order to support vessel operators with issues they are facing during the ongoing worldwide pandemic, we’re delighted to announce the second in a series of online Town Hall meetings on Thursday 21st January from 10.00 to 11.30 (UK time).

These meetings will bring together members of The Tall Ships Races’ event team, the Ships Council as well as Trustees and Directors of Sail Training International and Tall Ships Races International Ltd respectively.

The sessions will be an informal chance to discuss updates of how the COVID-19 is impacting operations around the world and experiences from ships operating during the pandemic. They will also cover challenges and concerns facing vessel operators considering entering The Tall Ships Races 2021, The Tall Ships Races Magellan-Elcano 500 Series 2021 and the SCF White Sails of Peace Tall Ships Regatta 2021.

The prime area of discussion for the second Town Hall meeting on Thursday 21st January will be an update on the ongoing impact of COVID-19, vessel preparation and planning for trainees and any specific challenges to potential participation in The Tall Ships Races events in 2021 which we can work with Host Ports to resolve.

If you are a vessel operator and would like to take part in the online Town Hall meeting, please send an email expressing your interest to ships.council@sailtraininginternational.org to receive further joining instructions.
