Sail Training International Signs Two Host Port Contracts During Host Port Seminar in Stavanger

July 26, 2026

The Host Port Seminar, held at Stavanger Concert Hall, provided the perfect opportunity for Sail Training International to sign host port contracts with two future Tall Ships Races host cities.

The Host Port Seminar, which takes place during The Tall Ships Races each year, brings together current and prospective host ports, giving them the opportunity to experience first-hand how a city delivers this internationally renowned event.
We welcomed Ronald Köster from Kiel, who signed the contract to host their first Tall Ships Race in 2028, and Peder Syrdalen, from Arendal, who signed on to host The Tall Ships Races 2029.

Together with Vanessa Mori, CEO of Sail Training International, they officially signed the agreements and celebrated this important milestone, marking the beginning of their journey towards welcoming the international fleet, trainees, and visitors to their cities.

Arendal 2029 Contract Signing

Vanessa Mori, comments, “It feels especially fitting to be securing the future of The Tall Ships Races here in Stavanger, which provides a wonderful showcase of how a Tall Ships Races host port event can bring the city, the crews and the ships together in the spirit of youth development and international friendship and understanding.”

We are delighted to welcome Arendal back as a host port following its fantastic debut in 2023.

Kiel is a city with a strong track record of hosting International sailing events, demonstrating their ability to deliver exceptional experiences to visitors and participating vessels and so we are very much looking forward to bringing The Tall Ships Races to this German port for the first time and we can’t wait to see what the city has in store for us.

Congratulations to both host ports – we look forward to working together to deliver two outstanding future editions of The Tall Ships Races.
