Goodbye Kristiansand

August 1, 2010

After a very sociable evening yesterday, with many parties and receptions taking place on board the ships and the quayside packed with visitors, the port of Kristiansand is a busy place this morning as the crews prepare to leave for the start of Race Two to Hartlepool.  Undocking has begun with the traditional Parade of Sail beginning at 12:00 noon off the island of Odderoya.  Thousands of people are expected to watch the parade as it makes its way towards the start line.

Race start is scheduled for 17:00hrs local time, seven miles off the entrance to Kristiansand.

The fleet can be tracked throughout the race using the Yellowbrick tracking system on this website, with positions being updated every two hours.  View live tracking on The Tall Ships Races 2010
