Tall Ships Races International Ltd Announce New Chairman

October 5, 2021

Tall Ships Races International Limited (TSRIL), the trading company for the charity Sail Training International, are delighted to announce Einar Corwin as new Chairman of the Board of Directors.

TSRIL is responsible for managing the trading activities of Sail Training International and is responsible for organising The Tall Ships Races and Regattas.

After four years as Chair of our events company TSRIL, Ross MacDonald has decided to step down. Ross has steered the company through an extraordinarily difficult time with the cancellation of all our planned events for 2020 and 2021. We will always be grateful to Ross and his fellow Directors for their determination and skill in navigating these unprecedented challenges and ensuring the ongoing activities of Sail Training International and The Tall Ships Races. He remains as a Trustee and Vice-Chair on the main Sail Training International Board.

Einar Corwin, a Trustee of Sail Training International, will take over as Chair of TSRIL. Einar is well-known in the international sail training family as the Director of the Norwegian Class A Tall Ship Christian Radich from 2004 until 2018. He now concentrates mostly on continuous improvement of sail training and on safety. He has been a board member of Norwegian Sail Training Association for 10 years.

Previously he worked in technical design, marketing and chartering in the ship and offshore industry. After studying for an MA he concentrated more on business improvements and crisis management in banks. He has 10 years experience as a management consultant, and was Managing Partner at Habberstad, a Norwegian recruitment and consultant company.

Sail Training International is delighted to be welcoming Einar as the new Chairman of TSRIL, and continuing to further our mission of developing young people and promoting international friendship and understanding.
