Den Helder will welcome The Tall Ships Races back for the first time since 2008, having also hosted the series in 1996. We’re delighted to return to the Dutch coastal city with its rich maritime history and cultural heritage.
Recreation, relaxation and enjoying natural surroundings are the name of the game in Den Helder with a range of restaurants, cultural monuments, museums and water cruises to enjoy.
A notable new addition to the city since our last visit is the unique Willemsoord complex, the restored naval wharf now offering various nautical and cultural attractions. With the addition of UNESCO World Heritage site, the Wadden, there is much to enjoy in the ‘Gibraltar of the North’.
