Weather Forecast Good For Race Start

The fleet left St Malo yesterday in two Parade of Sails to head towards the start of Race 1 located west of Ushent (Ouessant) which will commence tomorrow as planned.

At the moment they have a light to moderate westerly wind and the latest forecast is showing a favourable  west north west moderate wind which should provide good conditions for the start of Race 1.

The international trainees and professional crews have had a fantastic time in the very enthusiastic port of St Malo.  Highlights have included the sports competitions which proved very popular along with the hospitality on offer from St Malo’s many restaurants, cafes and bars.

Sail Training International is expecting the fleet to arrive in Lisbon from the afternoon of Wednesday 18th July with all ships required to be in port by 12.00 Thursday 19th July.

The Tall Ships Races 2012, Presented by Szczecin and organised by Sail Training International is taking place in the following host ports: 

St Malo – Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 July (race start Monday 9 July)

Lisbon – Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 July

Cadiz – Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 July

A Coruí±a – Friday 10 to Monday 13 August

Dublin – Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 August
