SOUTH PASSAGE is a gaff rigged schooner. She was launched on 23 September 1993 and named South Passage after the channel between Moreton and North Stradbroke Islands. Her maiden voyage with 24 students was in December 1993. Since then she has taken over 40,000 students sailing on voyages varying from six hours to seven days.
LOA was built as a three-masted schooner in Svendborg, Denmark in 1922 – and restored as a barquentine in Aalborg, Denmark 2004-09. THALASSA was originally built in 1980 in Harlingen, Holland, but after she sank in 1985 was bought by Arnold Hilkema and Jacob Dan who totally rebuilt and refitted her. She was relaunched in 1995. 2004 was the first year she competed in The Tall Ships Races.
S/y Henrika is a sea scout training vessel owned and operated by a Finnish sea scout troop “Kupittaan Henrikinpojat ry”. Her home port is Turku in South-Western Finland. Henrika has taken part in Tall Ships’ Races in Baltic Sea Region since 1996. The vessel and the whole scout troop are operated entirely on voluntary basis.
