Built in1954 in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France at the shipyard Union et Travail. Was operated for years by the group Refuge des Marins in Brittany until the 1980s when it was purchased by Christian and Suzanne de Parada in 1986. Used for sail training with youth.
Gratitude was built in Porthleven, 1903 as a sailing trawler. She was sold to Sweden in 1932 and to Svenska Kryssarklubbens Seglarskola (the Swedish Cruising Club Sail Training Foundation) in 1957. Merisissi III is owned and run by the Sea Scout Troop from Turku in Finland. She has participated in the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000 replacing the wooden Merisissi III which took part in the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in 1972.
