Tom studied Broadcast Journalism at University and after graduating in 2020, he began working as Social Media and Marketing Manager for the Association of Sail Training Organisations (ASTO). During his time at ASTO, Tom worked closely with ASTO’s member organisations to promote Sail Training in the UK. As well as this, he took the lead on the complete visual overhaul and redesign of the UK Sail Training website, and assisted in organising and running four ASTO Small Ships Race events for UK Sail Training charities. Tom also oversaw a number of UK Sail Training projects and campaigns, including the Sail to Wellbeing initiative which aimed to promote the benefits of Sail Training on people’s mental health and wellbeing.
Tom previously joined the Sail Training International team at the Tall Ships Races 2022 in Harlingen and Antwerp. During the trip, Tom helped the STI Media Team with conducting interviews and collating other media content. Tom also helped run the Host Port Seminar in Harlingen.
