Carlos’s strong passion for the sea started his connection with Sail Training back in 1999 through APORVELA (the Portugese sail training organisation) – a founder member of STI. He was the Portuguese representative and founder member of the STI International Youth Council and involved in a range of diverse pilot projects. He kept his connection with sail training in the transition to his professional life and later in 2011 he was elected APORVELA’s Trustee. Today, in his professional life, he holds an international position, within a leading multinational public company.
