Ullapool Welcomes International Crews

July 15, 2011

It was a beautiful morning in Ullapool and it looks as though an international party is set to take place tonight with Auno, Christan Radich, Gloria and Urania all currently in-port, potentially joined by De Gallant and Jolie Brise later this evening.

Sail Training International has been told that Oban was amazing over the last couple of nights with a beautiful sunset providing the perfect backdrop for crews from Provident, John Laing, St Iv, Black Diamond, Auno and Constantia who were all in port.

Cruise-in-Company participating harbours include the ports of Campbeltown, Islay, Oban, Ullapool, Stornoway, Stromness, Kirkwall, Fair Isle, Scalloway, Yell, Unst and/or Whalsay which crews will undoutedly enjoy before heading to Lerwick by 1200, 21 July 2011.

The Tall Ships Races were last in Lerwick in 1999 and saw over 50 vessels and around 2,000 crew visiting with the event attracting 74,000 visitors during the four-day Host Port visit. For 2011 Lerwick has attracted over 57 ships and 2,000 crew who will mingle with thousands of anticipated visitors before the eagerly anticipated start of Race Two to Norway.
