Race Start Delayed

July 14, 2010

The start of the first race in this year’s Tall Ships Races has been delayed due to bad weather. While yesterday saw blue skies and a good breeze, unfortunately a front is passing through the race start area bringing heavy rain but no wind at all.

The race committee are currently reviewing the forecast and hope that the start will now take place at 1730 UTC/GMT. The fleet are currently all in the race start area, some five miles off Ostend, with many in full sail but not moving anywhere.

A further update will be posted on this website as soon as information is received.
