Race Committee announcement regarding Race Two finish

August 4, 2010

The Race Committee has announced its decision to shorten Race Two of the Tall Ships Race in order to ensure all vessels arrive in Hartlepool in time for the festivities.

In contrast to Race One, light to moderate headwinds have hampered the fleet’ progress and are set to continue.  However the unique formula used by Sail Training International ensures that all vessels finishing at sea will still be eligible for placings as appropriate.

Class A vessels will now finish the race at 12:00 UTC/GMT on 5 August (13:00 local time), Class B vessels at 12:15 UTC/GMT on 5 August, Class C vessels at 12:30 UTC/GMT on 5 August and Class D vessels at 13:00 UTC/GMT on 5 August.

Provisional results will be available here once all ships are in port and final results announced when declaration forms have been submitted and reviewed by the race committee in Hartlepool.
