The 18 metre sloop
Tomidi, from Antwerp was the first vessel to cross the finish line this morning at 04.45 UTC after a tense 12 hours that saw many positions change overnight. She was followed by another Class D yacht,
Rona II from the UK that finished at 05.12 and close behind her was the mighty Class A ship
Mir that finished at 05.38.
Christian Radich from Norway took the overall lead on corrected time from
Jolie Brise (UK) overnight and she now lies in second place overall just ahead of
Tecla from the Netherlands. The fight for first place overall on corrected time will continue as these vessels approach the finish line.
Rupel another vessel from Antwerp is third on corrected time in Class B just behind
Jolie Brise and
Tecla.
Dar Szczecina from Poland is in first place on corrected time in Class C followed by
Black Diamond of Durham (UK) and
St Iv from Estonia.
Miles To Go from Belgium is in first place on corrected time in Class D followed by
Endorfina (Poland) and
Tomidi.
Many other vessels are due to cross the finish line before the next race report this evening in what promises to be an exciting and close finish for many more of the other young crews.
